White, single religion, and also authoritarian. Plus, now that they're capitalist, they represent a problem that Reagan fixed forever.
Yep. And they are ruthless towards gay people.
But what the average Republican voter (and Tucker Carlson) doesn’t understand about Russia is that its a complete mafia state where no one really trusts anyone because the system is so corrupt.
Years ago, I read a piece about a western journalist traveling in Moscow for a story. The journalist was in a cab in heavy traffic when an ambulance came up behind them with lights and sirens blaring. No one moved aside including the cab. The journalist asked the cabbie why no one moved for the ambulance and he said because rich people will often pay ambulances to illegally drive them through heavy traffic so no one trusts that there’s an actual emergency now.
Imagine living in that type of society.

Yep—appears modern Russia is GOP dreamland.
Incredibly corrupt, maintain power by propaganda, disinformation, and cheating at every opportunity.
All well and good as long as the “right” people are in power.
Thx Pubs.
According to a Forbes article, Texas with about 29 million people has a substantially larger GDP than Russia, with about 145 million ($1.7 trillion to $1.28 trillion.) The GDP per capita in Texas is about $58,000, in Russia it's under $9,000. Not only is Russia not a place that any sane person would want to emulate politically and socially, economically it's a mess too.

Reinstating the Fairness Doctrine would help. Can viewers sue people who willingly broadcast misinformation? That would help over time.
It would be beneficial for the House committees to conduct more hearings like Wednesday to just get the facts out there and counter misinformation about how this works.
