Who really needs a library these days anyways? It's just a very expensive quiet room to study. Pretty much anything you could ever need is available online unless you are some weirdo researching rare books.

I'm sure Chupes could answer this better than me, but they also do important work with acquisitions (though most don't have a lot of moneys for this) getting you research dorks (e-)access to the books and journals you need.

Yeah, there is definitely a lot more to it, but I think TWMD's line of thinking is similar to many students and administrators, which is a problem. Although, I think we underrate its impact, need, and importance, even if the only thing it does is operate as that communal space.
