Climate Change & Natural Disasters Thread

What I will never understand is why the average person would ever support these heinous, anti-environment/anti-climate bills. Do they really STILL think they're going to catch that trickle down? How? Like how in the actual fuck do people think that helping the oil companies over clean energy is going to help THEM?
 
Hell, most of them don’t get paid themselves. They’re just happy other people suffer. It’s a strange existence.

Yep. No way some fancy pants yuppie with a worthless college degree and overpaid job living in some librul city is going to tell ME what to do! Meanwhile their air and water start getting polluted again and climate change causes floods that wash their house away. But Don't Tread on Me, dude! MAGA resentment is a powerful thing.

The Trump administration has asked NASA employees to draw up plans to end at least two major satellite missions, according to current and former NASA staffers. If the plans are carried out, one of the missions would be permanently terminated, because the satellite would burn up in the atmosphere.

The data the two missions collect is widely used, including by scientists, oil and gas companies and farmers who need detailed information about carbon dioxide and crop health. They are the only two federal satellite missions that were designed and built specifically to monitor planet-warming greenhouse gases.
