College Golf (NWT)

That's rough. I play college golf and have a buddy on the Furman team. Really sucks for all the players.
 
Really a shocking decision. There is a kid from W-S signed to play at Furman next year.
 
That article makes it seem like their women's program is much more successful than their men's program. That's one hell of a list of alums.
 
Their women's program was really successful 30 years ago. Not sure about anymore. Brad Faxon played there in the 80s on the men's side.
 
It surprised me,because of some of the golf alums, that they would not try to put together a fund raising effort to at least keep the program going for a few years. When you make an announcement like that with no warning to some of your heavy contributors it makes you wonder what their thinking is.

The guy who is from Winston now is graduating and then using his last year of eligibility for grad school somewhere. The kid who signed and was supposed to go is going to be a preferred walk on at SMU

Seems odd that they would cut the program over 400K a year without giving alums a chance to save it.
