I installed Norton 360 about 2 weeks ago. Well, check out complaints about Norton on Internet--enough said. You computer guys (gals) out there, what is the program that you suggest. Thanks in advance. Norton has created a nightmare for me. I just un-installed.

Don't be a fucking idiot on the internet. That's the best anti-virus program.

Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free, seemingly effective, and fairly "lightweight" (doesn't slow your computer down much).

Hmm, generally you should be fine with just MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials), and then a good ad blocker/script blocker on your browser and common sense.

If you rly wanna a third party app, I'd go with something like AVG free. Just don't pay for anything, totes not worth it.

Thanks. I used Defender with XP. It seemed to do the trick

This. I'm on the cusp of moving from AVG to MSE next time I do an install. NoScript/NotScript will stop half the shit from getting a hold (though it's kind of hard to convince the family members to use). Chrome incognito window when porning.

I have used Adblock Plus for Chrome for about a month now. It seems to be a good program so far. I do not think it is available for IE yet

It's funny that Symantec can have such a crap product like Norton 360 for home users, but their Endpoint Protection 12 product is amazing for business use. I installed that across our network about 1 year ago and haven't had a single virus/trojan infection. Knock on wood.

Never use IE. It's complete junk and it can't even display Wordpress sites correctly.

Thanks. I had trouble with Chrome about a year ago. Using it on Laptop now. I will take your recommendation for the desktop

I've been using ESET NOD32 for years and love it. Great error rate and uses very few system resources.
