he also said on Feb 27 that the 15 cases in the US would soon be down to zero

Why is anyone surprised? Trump doesn’t listen to anyone, knows more than fill in the blank of any expert. You can bullshit your way through a lot of things but infectious diseases and outbreaks isn’t one of them. He has also almost completely surrounded himself by yes men bootlickers and I wouldn’t be surprised if people just tell him what he wants to hear so he will leave them alone.

Trump is undoubtedly a bs specialist, but his approach to downplay the virus is the right move (albeit a selfish one). If the president were to echo the media, fear would cripple us. As it is, there will be tens of thousands of Americans who will lose their jobs in the next few weeks, then they will lose their homes, etc. Yes, people will die, but where was this fear when over 500,000 people died from the seasonal flu a few years ago.

Stick to Wall St.

Trump and his actions are undoubtedly making this worse.

Ugh this is gross. Yeah let’s baldly lie about it!

It’s sad that grandma died, but the real tragedy is the points she lost on her estate.

This.

The media, businesses, Wall Street, and the public are all panicking precisely because the response to the virus has been so inconsistent. And you have an administration and President who has been destroying its own credibility literally since day 1 (inauguration photo bullshit).

You can be both transparent and calm at the same time.

1) Give people the hard facts and tell them why the government (and the rest of the world) are concerned. 2) tell them what you’re doing about it. 3) Deliver on those promises and when you fail, be forthright and explain how you’re going to fix it.

The Trump administration is failing on all 3 of these, which is the equivalent of pouring gasoline onto a smoldering fire.

thoughts and prayers should be strong tho
