"Critical Step on Journey to Mars" - Orion Test Launch this morning at 7:05 am ET

Critical Step on Journey to Mars
NASA's new Orion spacecraft is set for its first launch at 7:05 a.m. EST this morning. Lifting off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida aboard a Delta IV Heavy rocket, the un-crewed Orion will orbit 3,600 miles above Earth before splashing down in the Pacific. Orion is being designed to carry astronauts on exploration missions into deep space, including a trip to an asteroid and eventually to Mars.

check it out at NASA.gov.

currently in a hold on the liftoff. the 7:05 time is the beginning of the launch window, which is around 2 and a half hours long.

everything is go except for the winds. still trying to find a new takeoff time. launch window extends till around 9:40 am.
