The acclaimed director of such films as “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive” and creator of the TV series “Twin Peaks” said he voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary and thinks he voted for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson for president, though he’s not really sure.
“I am not really a political person, but I really like the freedom to do what you want to do,” Lynch said.
On other subjects, Lynch said he regrets being an absent father, but his work demanded it. “You gotta be selfish. And it’s a terrible thing. I never really wanted to get married, never really wanted to have children. One thing leads to another and there it is,” he said.
