Win Headley, Defensive Tackle for the 1970 ACC championship team has died. He played DT at 6-3 and 245. There are some reminiscences from his team mates over on Les' site.
The defense of that 1970 team was really good. The starters could play with anybody.
Bio on Wikipedia.
Win Headley won the Bill George Award for best lineman after the season. He was named team MVP. He also was co-winner of the Arnold Palmer Award at the end of the 1970-1971 school year. He was First Team All ACC and Second Team All American by the Walter Camp Foundation.
He was elected to the WFU Hall of Fame in 1994.
He was drafted in the 8th round by the Packers, but was cut before the regular season.
