So everyone in the country knows we need to have a middling D for our team to truly improve and be a respected team nationwide as D wins championships. So we have arguably played a harder first half this year than last with Clemson and FSU early on along with a top 30 Liberty and an away SEC game albeit Vandy. So here is a breakdown of stats for first half vs. full season last year:
24 pts game allowed vs. 29 last year
136 rushing yards/game vs. 195 last year
238 passing yards/game vs. 217 last year
374 yards total yds/game vs. 412 last year (38 yards better largely due to improved rush D)
38% 3rd down conversion vs. 39% last year
2 TOs/game both years.
No cream puffs the rest of year, so will be interesting if our season averages hold, get better as team continues to improve or gets worse and moves towards last year's averages.
