Stumbled across this story about the passing of Barney, former 1st dog

If you read David Frum's or Woodward's book, you would have seen that W was intent on invading Iraq before 9/11.

all you have to do to see what kind POTUS someone will be is to look at the people around him. No POTUS since at least Ike has has a worse inner circle than W and it's not even close.

well, he does have a lot of free time on his hands these days.
 
I actually got to meet Barney once, he was a nipper but a cool dog.

No 9-11, Bush prob loses in 2004. Wouldn't have been Kerry tho, maybe Hilldog or Algore part deux.
 
Sad to hear about Barney. Pretty cool dude. A little high strung though after his pops cut him off from booze.
 
a friend of mine and i both talked this over years ago, and came to the conclusions W would be an excellent friend/drinking buddy. still have intense distaste, but he can't really help he was frankly too stupid (and too easily manipulated) to be a good president.
 
It's impossible to know what sort of President Bush would have been absent 9/11. He did a lot of great things for Africa. I agree he was in over his head.

I would love to hang out with the Bush family though.

If true I shudder to think of what Lyndon Johnson would have done with an inner circle like Bush's.
 
My professional opinion (I have an MFA) is that Bush has talent. Nice understated work. But I have to tell you all that Angus Young of AC/DC is a great artist.
