Had no idea this was going on, I wonder if Grantland had a lot to do with it. There were definitely some great Page 2 columns over the years, I think my favorite had to be Eric Neel's ballpark tour where he rated each ballpark on criteria like food, architecture, etc.

What were some of your favorite columns/columnists?

The obvious pick for me.

Nothing had really surprised me until then (with the glaring exception of those whimpering sots from Wake Forest, who failed so horribly against Auburn that I swore to myself, even before that vulgar game had ended, that I was going to drive at once to the sleepy fat village of Winston-Salem, N.C., and release a swarm of 900,000 full-grown Vulture fleas somewhere in the middle of the campus, or maybe in the basement of the team's practice facility).

Shotgun Golf wins it for me. Still amazed I was able to pull off citing this article in a research paper on Gonzo Journalism in undergrad.

Is it weird that i've never even heard of this?

Hard to see a role for Page 2 given the creation of Grantland.

The only thing I still went there for was Paul Lukas' UniWatch columns. Hopefully those survive in some form (moving them to Grantland would be fine with me).

Greggggggg Easterbrook is the fucking WORST. Hang his anti-semitic elitist ass out to dry.
