Ethan Joyce out at WSJ

So 1 less Top 25 vote for App in every weekly football poll I guess…

I think the WSJ is effectively done as a newspaper.

I’m not sure I’ve read anything by him. So they dropped Conor and asked him to cover WF and App St? Then they dropped Joyce and John Dell is doing what he can? Dell seems like he’s been there forever. I would’ve thought it would be cheaper for the Journal to can Dell and keep Conor or Ethan. Oh well. I took the print edition of the paper for four years in the late 90s so it’s kind of sad to seem them flailing. But not really surprising.

I hate the newspapers are going the way of the dodo. I used to love reading the box scores in the morning while eating sugar filled cereal.

I still pay for the digital version…quit the paper edition some time ago mainly because the delivery person couldn’t comply with repeated simple and reasonable requests regarding where to put (not put) the paper.

It’s been a fairly long slow decline for local and regional papers. It is sad.

Ok boomer

In the rare event that I see newspapers delivered anymore, they never make it to the stoop. Not even halfway either. Like on the sidewalk that runs in front of the house or the easement is as good as you can hope.

Lol…definitely boomerish.

I just wanted it tossed onto one of two parts of a circle driveway. Not on the lawn. They just toss it from a car window driving by, which is great…just not on my lawn (where the sprinkler gets it wet)!!

Oh well…I’m used to the digital version now.

I know we’ve ragged on the guy, but that sucks. Looks like he just had a baby a couple of weeks ago, too.

The Journal missed the period when Wake Forest took over their whole city. In the seventies the relationship was awful. The Journal never realized what was going on. Pretty sure we got this dude fired. Wake drops a billion in your downtown and you want to write about a college in Boone NC. He deserved it.

Ok so ... before you break your arm patting yourself on the back.

Ethan didn't get fired or laid off, for that matter. He left of his own volition and got a position within the same ownership group that won't require the insane hours that came with trying to cover App and Wake.

This right here gonna get ugly. People cutting you slack on Duke coverage. Fuck you. Before you get off your knees covering Duke basketball, you might want to retract that. I don't give a shit about you or the stupid questions you ask Wake Forest coaches. Break your arm on that idea.

Insane hours? Damn, I have to work. It's my job.
