Definitely more popular, and they were banned for a short period of time, we should get back to that. They are still way more expensive then your average rifle/pistol/shotgun etc. which is why you don’t see many gang members with them, also they are hard to conceal.

I was born in 1976 and lived throughout the 80s in a small town where everyone had guns. Nobody had an AR-15 or ever talked about having one. The gun manufacturers started marketing the shit out of them after Desert Storm and esp. once the Global War on Terror got started.
