From a Firefighter's Perspective

I'd like to get a Go Pro of TSY haunting the play house his FD owns. WE KNOW IT'S YOU, TSY.

An acquaintance from high school fell through the floor a couple weeks ago when fighting a fire. I can't really comprehend anything on this helmet video but it makes me appreciate more what kind of craziness can happen during a fire.

I was actually coming here to post the raw video of this fire. Interesting you know the guy. With the affordability of Go Pro cameras, you'll start seeing more and more of these videos posted online. In the past, cameras were available, but cost prohibitive. Its good and bad, good that it is a great tool to critique our tactics and situations, bad because now if we screw up there is video evidence.

Very cool Go-Pro footage from the helmet of a firefighter...

I don't know tsy, but I do know other firefighters. They have my respect and deep appreciation for what they do! Thank you for your service, tsy.

Another story related to your first post. The brush fires in Australia this year have been massive. Now an animal welfare group is asking people to sew mittens for the koala bears that suffered burns in the fires. A cute and heartwarming story, very close to our original Smokey Bear story from way back when.
