Now that they own KY, Russian oligarchs have contacted over a dozen red governors trying to make "investments" in their states. Are they stupid enough to take the blood money?
When historians write about these years, one thing they'll probably be amazed at is the fact that the GOP, which for decades feared Soviet influence (indeed, almost any foreign influence) on our government and society, and accused Democrats for years of being under the influence of Soviet spies and "foreign, un-American" philosophies like socialism, or sinister foreign interests of some kind, more or less gladly opened their arms to Russian influence on our election system, and numerous Republicans (like McConnell) and Trump officials and family eagerly did the bidding of numerous foreign governments in exchange for what amount to bribes and favors. Putin? What a great guy!
But not what's being taught in universities and colleges, or what is accepted among the great majority of historians. I just don't think the right-wing narrative is going to hold up in the long run. Short run, maybe, but as time passes and the older generation of Trump supporters die out, I don't think that either he or his administration are going to be remembered very well (nor will George W. Bush and his administration, for that matter.)
