What we need to do and what Grobie needs to do is face facts and keep himself tied for the alltime record for Wake Forest football wins with Peahead Walker and go on down the road to retirement. That way he can save face and have the alltime record with the best ever football coach at Wake Forest. If times were different back then Peahead would have actually been to about eight or ten bowl games. He would also have many more wins on his great resume as instead of just eight or ten total games a season he would have been able to play twelve. With six wins being the benchmark for bowl eligible and having over seventy teams going to bowls Peahead would have blown all these records out the proverbial window. Grobie brought us up to these levels but his conservatism his allegiance to Steed and the changes at the school have made it time. Sad but true I am sorry to say.

Grobe will never equal Peahead. Peahead had a fairly impressive winning record; Grobe achieved his wins with more losses than wins. Even Caldwell could "break Peahead's record" given enough time to do it.

Talk about an excruciating 30 years.
