On Paul Finebaum's national radio show, football writer and prognosticator Danny Sheridan has come out and said that the NCAA has the name of a witness who can verify the payoff to the Newtons in the Cam Newton scandal.

Sheridan claims that up to $200,000 was given to the Newtons and Sheridan says that in many decades of sports involvement with nationally leading publications, he has never been wrong with a story not going down the way he says it will.

Someone with Sheridan's background, and sources coming forward and "staking his entire reputation" on this story should be very alarming to Auburn.

Some say because he is an Alabama graduate he has an agenda, but his friendships with Pat Dye and Tommy Tuberville are well documented.

Sheridan says that there is no personal agenda here, just that he's been told this and he is willing to bet his money and reputation that this is true.

Sheridan has worked nine years for CNN and broke some of the biggest stories in sports and has never been wrong yet with one.

At SEC media days, Sheridan told the Sporting News reporter Matt Hayes that, “In the last 20-30 years, I think I’ve been right on 45 of 46 NCAA-related stories,” says the guy who gives betting odds for USA Today. “About $20,000-30,000 went to a church for repairs, and another $150,000-175,000 went to the Newtons.”

For those who want credentials and a history of Sheridan's work, go to his site and see for yourself that he is one of the most trusted and respected people in sports without ever having a claim he's made be wrong.

Should Sheridan be right this time as well, Auburn will not only lose their national championship, but the entire 2010 season, Cam Newton's Heisman Trophy and perhaps years of probation and scholarship reductions.

According to Sheridan, the world will know all in two to three weeks.
