How many different schools have made the Elite Eight since Wake did in 1996?

How many different schools have made the Final Four since Wake did in 1962?

I'll tell you if your answer is close.

quick guesses without any thought. This would be a good Sporcle.

did bobknightfan put you up to this!?

No. It actually shows that it's not something inherent about Wake that is the problem. Anybody can advance in the tournament.

Let's start with just the ACC schools:

duke
unc
notre dame
nc state
Louisville
Boston College
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
Florida state
Miami
Virginia

That leaves the two Techs and Clemson in the same festering shithole as us.

Davidson, Weber State, Gonzaga, UCLA, UConn Women.

We're arguably the worst on that list at least recently.

Who has the more bizarre fetish: BK for frog porn, or BKF for BK?

I'll go with roughly 30 to the FF, 63 to the EE and 77 to the SS.

Might as well play along.

1. 90
2. 75
3. 105

Also, Georgia Tech is part of the group of 2 of these questions, so it's us and the land grant schools (minus NCSU)

To start the math, I'll take that as:

11 years beginning with 2005 (including 2015) of sweet 16's = 176 slots; 120 different teams
18 years (1997 - 2014 inclusive) of elite 8's = 144 slots; 100 different teams
52 years (1963 - 2014 inclusive) of final fours = 208 slots; 70 different teams
