I need a good Rosh Hashanah menu item to bring to a dinner!

Fatush salad, a classic Israeli dish. Pile together these things:

radish (soak in salt water first)
cherry tomatoes
cucumbers
roasted red peppers
charred red onion
fried pita strips
banana peppers (optional)
feta
olive tapenade

get some good olive oil up in there, leave the pita chips until the end so that they stay crispy (also the feta for presentation), and sprinkle a bunch of za'atar (marjoram, thyme, sumac, oregano) on top.

This is a tremendous cookbook if you want some ideas
