Ok, so I broke down and bought and iPhone this evening. I had a Blackberry Curve, and it fried on me three times. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me thrice, fuck you, Blackberry Curve.

As an iPhone virgin, which apps do you find most helpful / fun? There are so many out there, I don't know where to start. I googled them, but I'd appreciate some more familiar input.

Frequently used free utilities: Twitter, DirecTV, Yelp, RunKeeper (may not be free anymore), Mint.com, TripIt, Pandora, ESPN ScoreCenter

Good games for <$5: Bejeweled + Blitz, Tiny Wings, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Flight Control

Hadn't realized how much more I was willing to pay for games than utilities, interesting.

If you have specific questions about any of them let me know.

I'm scrolling through my pages to give a list, so forgive the random order. I probably have 40-50 on my phone but use 10-12 on a weekly basis.

A lot of scorecenter users. I used it for a while. BUT

I find that Scoremobile is a lot more user friendly, more info, etc. I prefer that.

I've used both. ScoreMobile is just as good, I just liked ESPN's notification's better, and they arrive virtually in real-time.

Finally gave in and got TapaTalk. Awesome on the iPhone, not necessary on the iPad.

Deadbolt's list is pretty comprehensive. I'll add:
Steep and Cheap (if you like outdoor stuff)
TouchBB (I use it for reading these boards, since it was free)
Web Comics (read web comics, duh)
Last.fm (online music, similar to Pandora)
NPR Music (free concerts, programs, etc on music)

RunKeeper Pro is free now. I highly recommend it if you run/jog at all.

Yahoo's music player will stream all CBS stations, including 610AM in Charlotte, and 610.

Hipstamatic takes cool, 70s/80s style photos, 8mm does the same for your video.

Skype- free video chat to anyone with a webcam
Kindle
Infinity Blade - amazing graphics
Trainyard - very deep, challenging puzzle game
Shazam - IDs any song played on the radio
