Wake Forest lost a true gentleman and friend this week. Longtime Wake Forest trustee, board chair, football player and Greensboro attorney James T. "Butch" Williams '62, '66JD passed away at age 78. Jim was the consummate professional and a remarkable leader. He was an early pioneer in the use of technology in the courtroom and in his law practice. He loved WFU athletics and all that is good about our University. Rest in peace, Jim.
 
Always sad news when another member of the Deacon family passes away. My condolences to his friends and family.
 
Jim was an incredible leader for Wake Forest and an even better human being. Super smart, deeply committed, charismatic and purposeful. Wake Forest lost a wonderful soul.
