Tested Positive for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2.
Have to think that's gonna cost him a shitton of money. Who's the last guy to get a big contract after testing positive in the NBA?
That would be because you had to be pretty dumb to fail an NBA drug test in the past. Nowadays it seems that the NBA is cracking down with both longer first time suspensions and probably more random as opposed to scheduled tests. I doubt he loses much money from this as long as he plays well when he gets back.
First former Wake athlete to test postiive for PEDs since Nikita Whitlock !!
Or am I missing somene in between ?
This is way off the radar, but Diamond Deac Jonathan Pryor was drafted by the Nats in 2017. He was suspend for violating the MILB drug program after testing positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone: https://www.milb.com/milb/news/washington-nationals-jonathan-pryor-suspended-76-games/c-288432178
He says he did not take it knowingly and plans to appeal the suspension
This sounds like a case of a contaminated supplement. The PED that caused the positive test is basically a recovery agent and appetite enhancer. This wasn’t an actual steroid. The supplement industry is like the Wild Wild West. Most of the ingredients are sourced unreliably, especially outside of the US. Cross contamination of banned substances in small amounts isn’t that uncommon.
These guys have to be better about sourcing their supplements. They can afford the premium products that get lab tested.
