Tested Positive for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2.

Yikes.

Who is JC's agent? Would think that Collins' reps set him up with a trainer, nutritionist, support group that would ensure that Collins knows what he can and cannot put in his body as part of his training regime. Maybe JC went rogue and decided to go beyond what he was counseled to take, but wonder if he got some bad advice. He will get over this, but it sucks.

He says he did not take it knowingly and plans to appeal the suspension

Have to think that's gonna cost him a shitton of money. Who's the last guy to get a big contract after testing positive in the NBA?

That would be because you had to be pretty dumb to fail an NBA drug test in the past. Nowadays it seems that the NBA is cracking down with both longer first time suspensions and probably more random as opposed to scheduled tests. I doubt he loses much money from this as long as he plays well when he gets back.

I'd add to this though to concede that this suspension obviously eliminates him from making the all-star team this year. Certainly wasn't a lock that he would have, but he certainly could have in a weak East.

First former Wake athlete to test postiive for PEDs since Nikita Whitlock !!

Or am I missing somene in between ?

Yes, Roberts was suspended as well. Roberts was given a second chance. Pryor played in the independent Frontier League (Southern Illinois Miners) this past season.

He's the 3rd NBA player this year to be suspended for PEDS.

This sounds like a case of a contaminated supplement. The PED that caused the positive test is basically a recovery agent and appetite enhancer. This wasn’t an actual steroid. The supplement industry is like the Wild Wild West. Most of the ingredients are sourced unreliably, especially outside of the US. Cross contamination of banned substances in small amounts isn’t that uncommon.

These guys have to be better about sourcing their supplements. They can afford the premium products that get lab tested.

He is not a victim. Take responsibility for putting shit in your own body.

These guys jobs are to know what goes in their body. They know it and every time they get busted cheating they blame it on unknowingly ingesting something. Its bullshit and now the ONE success Wake hoops could hang their hat on over the last 10 years has been ruined.
