Currently serving on the jury...What are the repercusions of a 'no show' or call-in sick situation? Closing arguements are to be had tomorrow and I would love nothing more to get out for the holidays early.

What are the legal consequences, if any?

It's lasted longer than anticipated and with holidays next week...it's messing with my plans.

You can go to the closing or a deputy will escort you there. Likely in cuffs.

thanks...given all the legal loop holes...thought I would give it a shot.

Dude, closings are tomorrow, get elected foreman and get the verdict done on the first vote.

Bada bing, bada boom.

Tell the judge you have been chatting about the case on the internet. He'll relieve you of duty.

What sort of "legal loophole" were you expecting...? It's obviously not known if you're sitting on a civil or criminal jury, but either way, the Constitutionally and statutorily created hurdles to bring a case to trial have been met, so there must be some merit to the case, so someone has been wronged in some form or fashion, so you should stick it out to be a part of determining what (if any) wrong was committed and how it should be remedied (if at all)

Just do what John Cusack did in The Juror. It seemed to work for him.

If you've already been selected for the jury, then you lost your chance.

Very easy to avoid being on a jury, but once on, it's your moral and legal obligation to stick it out.
