LOCK, DELETE.

Even if you don't like Jeter, you can't put a reliever ahead of him.

The rank is all-time rank. included some guys that were yankees but may not be considered "yankees." hard to decide where the cutoff is b/w ruth and the others, but i'd say he's surely a yankee unlike the others.

I already said I was prolly wrong. This all-time stuff isn't my specialty, I was just surprised to see it.

Where do y'all rank Jeter in terms of all time shortstops? Behind Honus Wagner and Cal Ripken, I assume?

what if you only include their numbers when they were on the yankees?

perhaps we should debate some more spring training bean balls...

Anyone buying Espinosa "fixing" his swing for left side?

guess so. makes sense, though. crazy that the all time best closer doesn't even crack his own team's top 25 all time WAR. speaks more to the position itself than mo, i think, since there that fictional replacement player in mo's case wasn't really there league-wide, at least not as a reliever.

Mets manager Terry Collins made probably the best managerial decision in game I saw all of last year. Late in the game, down 2 or 3 runs, he pulled Jason Bay back and sent our Valdespin who just hammered one for the tie or go ahead run but the Mets bullpen blew the game. I just Googled it to investigate and find out he set the MLB record for most pinch hit homers last year, a role the Mets liked him in so much they didn't give him regular at bats.

Just curious...why?

the issue is usage. you pitch like a max of 70 ip a year. that just doesn't compare to a positional player who logs 150 games both ways a year or a starter who logs 3 times as many innings. i'm not sure how fwwar uses leverage which is the only way a closer could possibly close the gap.

my BOI tyler collins!

smashed a homer today, so his spring is 10/26, with 2 doubles, 2 triples, and a homer. solid slugging.
