Louisville just announced this. Nothing from Wake yet but I assume that means no Notre Dame game.

ACC Announces Football Schedule Changes and Adjustments to Medical Advisory Group Report

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today several football schedule changes, as well as adjustments to its Medical Advisory Group Report.

Following a recommendation from the conference Athletic Director football subcommittee, the league’s Athletic Directors have voted to preserve the integrity of the ACC Football Championship Game by evaluating each of the three teams in contention (Clemson, Miami and Notre Dame) based on a nine-game conference schedule. As a result, Clemson and Notre Dame will conclude the regular season this weekend.

Wake Forest, which was scheduled to play Notre Dame on Dec. 12, will now play at Louisville. Florida State will play host to Duke on Saturday, Dec. 12, and Florida State will travel to Wake Forest on Dec. 19.

Thursday, Dec. 10
Pitt at Georgia Tech (previously announced)

Saturday, Dec. 12
Virginia at Virginia Tech (previously announced)
North Carolina at Miami (previously announced)
Duke at Florida State
Wake Forest at Louisville

Saturday, Dec. 19
ACC Football Championship Game, 4 p.m., ABC (previously announced)
Georgia Tech at Miami (previously announced and if Miami is not in the FCG)
Florida State at Wake Forest

Should a game(s) involving Clemson, Miami or Notre Dame not be played this weekend, the ACC has the option to reschedule games on Dec. 12 as needed. Based on the current standings and results to date, Notre Dame holds all tiebreakers and has therefore secured a berth in the ACC Football Championship Game.

In addition, following guidance from its Medical Advisory Group, adjustments to the testing of football teams have been made. Each team will be required to have a PCR test administered on Thursday with a result prior to the visiting team traveling to the game locale. The Chief Medical Officers from each team will confirm results and attest that there is every expectation that the game will be played. While the Medical Advisory Group has not identified evidence of virus transmission during competition, this adjustment will mitigate the chances of unnecessary interaction between team members and outside individuals that are inevitable during travel. The current ACC Medical Advisory Group report is located here (full report).

As was previously announced, the 2020 ACC Football scheduling model includes 11 games (10 conference plus one non-conference), played over at least 13 weeks with each team having two open dates. Through games of Nov. 28, the ACC has played 74 of its 85 scheduled games (87.1 percent).

VERY bold new flavor

Given that WF and FSU lead in COVID cancellations the December 19 game could be the COVID bowl.

The ACC so desperately wants two teams in the BCS playoffs that they are giving ND and Clemson open weeks before the ACCCG. Kind of lame.

While it could change depending on opt outs, injuries or known COVID absences that arise before December 12, WF at L'ville should be close to a pick. L'ville has no game this weekend. They lost at BC last week by a TD. BC was -1.

WF will be a double digit favorite over FSU (probably around 13), which will be the first time ever for WF. The bottom has dropped out for FSU. In their last 3 games, they have lost to L'ville by 32, Pitt by 24 and NC State by 16. They lead the ACC in opt outs. The program is a complete mess right now. The idea of FSU playing in a cold and empty Groves Stadium in mid-December could not be a more likely scenario for FSU to completely mail it in.

FWIW, had WF played ND, the line would've been around two TDs. If Miami played at WF, WF would've been getting less than a TD. Miami is 15 point favorite at Duke this weekend.

Our schedule has been brutal enough already so I'm not shedding any tears dropping 2 of the top 3 conference teams (even though I think Miami is a fraud and we would pull out a W at home) for Louisville and FSU.

Let's get healthy and finish up strong.

Yeah this does help make up for the originally rough schedule we were given. But who knows if we will get those last two in.

If Deacs get to play any more at all this year that would be great.

Play and win these two games to finish 6-3, with two close losses against Crapple Hill and the Wuffies and not getting totally embarrassed by Clemson in Week 1 would be a very successful season in my book.

I hate to play the What If game, but if Sage Surratt didn't opt out, there's a damn good chance we beat Crapple Hill and the Wuffies.

In a normal year I think this is a 7/8 win team. If you would have told me that in preseason after the Surratt opt-out news + schedule, I wouldn’t have believed you. Clawson is right, this team is good.

I'll raise your "What If". If Sage Surratt and Greg Dortch were on the roster...

I realize things change daily with this situation but does anyone have a clue as to how bowls will work if we win these last two games? Will there even be bowl games?

I think it is less and less likely that there will be any bowls other than the CFP and the NY6.

But the way things stand right now for the ACC:
CFP-Clemson and Notre Dame
Orange- Miami
Orlando-UNC
Gator-NCSU
Military-BC
Charlotte-Wake
Birmingham/Tampa/Dallas-Pitt or VT or UVa
