Not a day goes by without Kelsey referring to something Skip said or running a drill that Skip ran or breaking down film like Skip broke down film. And it’s not that Kelsey is doing that for Mark’s benefit; after all his years with Skip, it’s the only way Kelsey knows to coach.
“For the reasons I did this,” Mark says, “all that has come to fruition.”
Kelsey feels the same way. In his return to coaching, he needed Skip's son by his side. He is Kelsey’s offensive coordinator — “Mark’s a magician as an offensive coach,” he says — and has become Kelsey’s sounding board, much as Kelsey was for Skip.
