We didn't build ours for punting. It's plenty high for everything else.
Just to echo this, the pictures don't really do it justice. To me it seems much bigger in person than in pictures.

7 weeks? More like 7 months, maybe. These photos are from about a week ago. They are laying the bricks on the exterior.
Other than starting the entire reason the structure is being built, you are correct, there isn't much interior work to finish.
It's definitely moved at a snails pace, but there's not 7 months of work left. The stucture is done. There's very little masonry left in the pictures and the rest should go up quick (if it's not already done). The rest of the exterior is windows and metal panels. There shouldn't be much interior finish work...big building, but almost no interior structure, power, plumbing, etc. Then again, at the pace it's gone so far...
The IPC is just to impress recruits and a place to hold graduation when it rains. You didn't think we would actually use it for practice did you?
It's interesting that in his last radio show, in response to a question from Stan about preparing for bad weather, Clawson said that the preparation for rain on gameday is practicing in the rain as much as you can. Funny how we build an indoor facility to avoid practicing in inclement weather when we need to practice in the inclement weather.
It's really helpful for Spring predawn workouts.
I don't think anyone can legitimately rationalize why we needed a multi-million dollar indoor facility in an area of the country that sees sunshine 300+ days/year and warm weather almost 10 months of the year.
It's just what the other "kids" are doing and we had to keep up for recruits.
Too bad the other kids aren't building biology and chemistry buildings.
Amen.
Amen.
