Memorial golf Tourney - Haas Tracker

Tied for 4th with a 71 today. Tough Saturday but another good result nonetheless. Bill has been a top-10 machine this year.

Helped his President's Cup candidacy this week!

Had a nice back nine. Prolly his best Sunday this year when he's been on the board.

Nice to see Kucher get his 2nd W. And Chappell was darned impressive down the stretch.

Haas with 6 top 10 finishes is tied for the PGA lead in that catagory. With that said, he has played as good as anyone on tour in the first two rounds of the 2013 tourneys. He simply has not played as well when in contention on the weekend. BTW, by being ranked in the top 50 in the world golf rankings heading into this weekend, Haas received an exemption to next weekend's US Open.

He ranks 16th in scoring average before the cut.

The stats page on the PGA tour is remarkably detailed, I think Tiger, even with all his wins this year, is like 88th in final round scoring average this year.

Not a Tiger fan here, but why isn't he winning at Merion? He has the length for the long holes, he's hitting that 5 wood great and his iron distance control has been the best he's had in years. I'm not saying he's going to win, but no way I'd discount him completely.

Nope. I'm not trying to be a dick but I know Merion very well so I'll explain why Merion is a terrible fit for Tiger despite what everyone who has never played Merion says. Merion is short but only has one medium length par 4 which would give Tiger an advantage with his 5 wood. The rest of the par 4s are very short or very long which favors guys who are precise off the tee. Merion's overall length isn't indicative of how it plays. Everyone on tour can find the fairway with a 250 yard shot. Tiger's advantage is he can find the fairway with a 270 yard shot which just isn't necessary at Merion. Tiger hitting a 5 wood off a long par 4 doesn't give him that much of an advantage over accurate drivers. Additionally, the par 5s are just awful set ups for Tiger. #2 has OB right which will take driver out of Tiger's hands. I don't see Tiger taking too many chances off the tee on short par 4s either. Tiger has never won a major on a classic Northeast course with those brutal greens. Bethpage's greens are so easy to putt and is by no means a traditional open venue.
