I know tickets are plentiful for non-conference games but I suspect the cops will be blocking on site scalping again this year. Has anyone noticed that so far?

Looking for 3 for Coastal next week, see plenty floating around for the StubHub minimum but would rather not give 50% of the money to EBay if I can give 100% to a Deac.

Cops have been blocking on site scalping?

I'm pretty sure I bought scalped tickets like two seasons ago.

Yes, last year I walked up outside the front door and spotted someone holding up a ticket. I walked up to him, asked what he wanted, responded with below face and a cop walks over and says no selling tickets no matter what the price. The cop did say he could give it away. I recall reading something around then that it was a new policy Wake started after buying the Joel.

Yup. Ronnie has had the thin blue line out there cracking down on scalping. It was never an issue when I was there and for the first few years after I graduated, but I think they really started to clamp down on it last season.

I noticed for football this year it seemed much more chill. People selling tickets right in front of the home side entrance.

From my experience, buying/selling outside the Joel was heavily discouraged by cops last year.

I've been to 3 games this season and I've seen very little activity again.

Needed a couple extra for the Duke game, so I put my hand up in the air and within one minute W-S's finest was there to tell me that buying tickets was not permitted. Let the jokes begin.

Glad to hear Ronnie is doing everything he can to boost those "we never draw well in December" attendance numbers

Is there a statute or ordinance that prohibits the re-sale of tickets on Wake property, or is the WSPD being used in the manner of a private security company to enforce WFU's property rights?

I know why they policy is the way it is. Wake has sucked so much since Dino that Wake has to practically give away tickets. Hell, Forsyth Tech students often can get tickets for $5-$10. So many promotional give-aways. They don't want people making profit off these tickets. I kind of get that, but at the same time...haven't we endured enough? Give the fans a reason to want to keep the tickets. My feeling is that they will relax once Manning and Co has this team competing and the Joel is packed again (Can't wait for that day...)

Looking for 6 in the lower level for Xavier. Willing to pay bottom dollar :D. Okay, maybe a little more than bottom dollar.

Yeah, no one is going to pay face for good lowers to see a bad Wake team* play a crappy opponent. No one with any sense anyway. Would you rather have 6k butts in seats for those games or another k who pay less than face value but show up?

*not saying this year's team is bad. Last few years? Yes.

Number in the ESPN box score. I assume that is tickets sold rather than bodies through turnstiles, but I don't know.

Is that a legit number you got somewhere or is that the "official attendance"- cause the official attendance is nothing more than a very positive guesstimate made after scanning the crowd.

I don't doubt what you say, but somewhere I suspect that there is a real number. At the last game I begged and was finally given a pass to go back to the car for my phone. I had babysitter, etc and needed to stay in touch. The supervisor finally let me go to the car and reenter. To reenter she made a big deal of me not going back through the turnstile. The nice lady actually waited for me at the door and escorted me back around the turnstile. She said that she didn't want to duplicate the count.
I sure would like to see real numbers though.
