Most dominant athletes of all time

Wilt should be #1 and it ain't close.

Pedro Martinez's 2001 season was the most dominant pitching season ever.

I don't know, y'all. Of "all time" is a long damn time. In all likelihood we may never have seen or heard of the most dominant athlete. Most of the names listed are there because they were/are recent enough to have made a big impression on us.
Probably the most dominant of the athletes listed wasn't even human. If we're talking single sports domination. Secretariat is at the absolute top of that list. No one has ever dominated a sport the way Secretariat did.
There were other human athletes who were great athletes who dominated multiple sports. Thorpe was one - it is inconceivable today, just as it was then, that anyone could do what he did. Another human multi-sport dominator was a woman (they think).
And, of course, Wilt was a multi-sport dominator (if you include some of his off-court activities).

6. Alexander Karelin

The guy used to get air dropped supplies to his cabin in Siberia and every four years the Russia government would shoot him with a tranquilizer and take him to the Olympics. He was undefeated for 13 years straight and went 10 years in a row without allowing even a single point to be scored against him. He won two gold medals when each of his opponents (except for Rulon Gardner) forfeited in lieu of getting their spine broken.
