Murray Budget

With an aging population and general inflation, you'd have to make serious cuts just to stay even. The budget will always be going up.

Committee Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) said based on the reported details, Murray’s budget increases taxes to pay for more federal spending.
“If the Senate Majority’s budget actually contains these accounting tricks, it would increase spending above already massive projections for spending growth. In other words, Senate Democrats would be proposing a tax hike to fuel even more wasteful government spending,” Sessions said.

The facts about our dwindling deficit are unwelcome in many quarters. Fiscal fearmongering is a major industry inside the Beltway, especially among those looking for excuses to do what they really want, namely dismantle Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. But the deficit is dwindling, and the case for making the deficit a central policy concern, which was never very strong given low borrowing costs and high unemployment, has now completely vanished.
