This was a pretty great year for music, probably the best of the last 5 years IMO. Purity Ring - another eternity is far and away my favorite of the year.

The album I was most disappointed in is the new Modest Mouse. Loved it the first time through, but nothing stuck with me after that. I expected better from such a good band after what, 8 years.

Pistol is the worst Modest Mouse song ever.

Is this more like the top 50 record store only, hipster albums that no one has ever heard?

You not counting Black Messiah in this? I get that it was in 2014, but was in the last couple weeks.

I definitely did not find as many albums I liked this year as last year, but my favorites would include in roughly this order:

- Beach House (both albums)
- Kurt Vile
- Father John Misty
- Deerhunter
- Wilco
- Martin Courtney
- Panda Bear
- Chvrches
- Jamie XX
- Purity Ring
- Grimes

We need to get this thread to page 2, ASAP. 50 youtubes to open the page is a browser killer.

yea this is an issue every year

i could make a spotify playlist if i had the inclination, or change these to links instead of embedded

and as for the end of year releases this year that haven't come out yet, these will probably be pretty good:

Kurt Vile & Steve Gunn - Parallelogram
Pusha T - Darkest Before Dawn
Chromatics - Dear Tommy
AraabMuzik - Dream World

love 1 & 2, but i would flip the order. need to do a closer examination later on.
