NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread - One Shining Moment - UConn Huskies

Pitt was not going to get a bid because when you are right on the bubble, the committee double-counts NC SOS, and Pitt’s was terrible.

I realize WHY South Carolina was a 6 seed based on their resume and record, however it was still alarming to see the worst at-large team in KP (49th pre-tourney) receive a 6 seed and, subsequently, be an underdog before getting run out of the gym by a better Oregon team.

Exactly that’s why Ken Pom is useless and at this point moving forward, as it always should have been, irrelevant. Didn’t suck enough virgin Ken Pom dick last year, miss the tournament, sucked too much Ken Pom dick this year, missed the tournament.

Wake wasn't even close to the tournament last year. We didn't even get an NIT invite.

Two years ago, metrics were very good as well, we didn't miss it because of that, we missed it because we can't win Q1 games and because we don't play very many of them.

Fifteen of the top 16 KP teams won their first round game, with #4 Auburn being the exception.

The lowest-rated at-large teams per KP were UVA, South Carolina, FAU, Utah St, TCU, and Boise State. Five of those six lost already.

Of the next eight lowest, five have lost (Nevada, Miss St, Colo St, TX Tech, Nebraska) vs. three winning (NW, ATM, Wazzu).

The biggest favorite by seed to lose thus far, Kentucky, was vastly overseeded as a 3 per KP, which has them at #22 overall.

WF ranked ahead of every MWC team except SDSU in KP, and would have been a 7 seed. Pitt would have been a 9-seed at #36 overall.

Kentucky over seeded and still lost SMH

Must defend Ken Pom! Meanwhile over in reality we see a broken man sitting here with Ken Poms #31 cum dribbling from their lips as we prepare for our second round NIT game.

I think OGB succinctly summed up how KP is faring. Doesn't have anything to do with Wake playing in the NIT as the 27th rated team there

Wake's a weird case where we had the metrics, passed the eye test, but didn't get the results needed to build an NCAAT resume.
