NCAA Tournament Discussion Thread - One Shining Moment - UConn Huskies

The problem with the MWC getting 6 bids and flaming out is that they have a 5, an 8, three 10s and an 11. When they lose, they are expected to lose, so no one makes a stink about it.

From a gambling perspective it's been a thing of beauty at least.

Candace Parker marrying Sheldon Williams is one of the greatest mysteries of my lifetime.
Going from marrying Sheldon Williams to marrying Anna Petrakova is one of the biggest upgrades of all time.

She was fire in Elektra though.
The weird thing about Jennifer Garner is she can act super attractive. Her character in Alias was silly hot. But real life or close to real life Jennifer Garner is weird and kind of offputting.

sure sure, but the real person annoys the fuck out of me and I think I actually would kick her out of bed; crazy yes I know.

Perhaps the mom in 2024 - But the high end escort in "Catch me if you Can"?

NAH

I'm gonna make up a theory here. The ACC is a transfer destination league while the MWC is not. Thus the teams in the ACC take more time to get their shit together and gel while the MWC may have more stable teams winning more consistently early in the year. Since metrics don't care about development, the MWC is overly rewarded for this stability and the ACC is punished.

Now we will find some metric to show this is wrong but just a Friday afternoon thought.

I'm not sure how that explains the MWC gaming the system to look good in the metrics.

I'm not sure it is explicit gaming - it is just winning a game in Nov is the same as March. They will win more Nov games because they have a consistent core. Then the credit they get for those games means every conference game is overvalued. Thus you end up with 6 bids. The ACC is just the opposite and league wins become undervalued.

Can’t wait for the ACC to get a quarter of the teams in the S16, MWC none, and the talking heads act like they have amnesia come Jan next year.
If filling out half the final four in a year where "our entire conference sucked and we'd be lucky to get a single team into the sweet 16" didn't matter, nothing will.

One of the bridesmaids in Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's wedding was a SOPH from her hometown in WV.

Wow, State beats up on Texas Tech. Clemson obliterates New Mexico. The wins over those guys should look pretty good on Wake's tournament resume!

Is this true? Utah State won the MWC regular season and returned no starters from last season. When I watched Colorado State play I heard about grad transfers from places I have never heard of like Black Hills. Also Hillsdale, which I have heard of, where Oakland's Gohlke played. Boise State is active in the portal. New Mexico lost a starter to Nebraska. I think Nevada had a lot of returning players.

Hopefully one of these years the ACC decides to start playing before mid-January

Also, if the ACC teams have acclimation problems, why do the Big 12/SEC/Big Ten not suffer from the same problems?

4 of MWC teams already out. Wake and Pitt would have easily beaten all of them. The selection process is broken.

Maybe, but moreso than Pitt we can't really whine. This team had a remarkable propensity to come up small in the big moments
