Never again - duke

Maybe AI can write the story of how much he had to overcome to have a career game tonight.

Heck yeah, the headline will tomorrow will be Flipowski has a triple double just days after nearly dying at the hands of out of control, rabid, court storming Wake fans.

I can try to write a short story based on the information I found online. Here is what I came up with:

Kyle Filipowski was determined to play in the game against Louisville. He had worked hard all season to become Duke's star player, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. He knew this game was crucial for the Blue Devils' chances of making the NCAA tournament. He was not going to let a sprained knee stop him.

The injury had happened four days ago, when Wake Forest upset Duke at their home court. As the fans stormed the court to celebrate, Kyle got caught in the chaos. He felt a sharp pain in his right knee as he collided with a fan who was taunting him. He fell to the ground, clutching his knee. He saw the fan's face, full of mockery and contempt. He felt a surge of anger and frustration.

He was helped off the court by his teammates and coaches. He was taken to the locker room, where the team doctor examined his knee. He told Kyle that he had a mild sprain, but nothing serious. He advised him to rest and ice his knee for a few days. He said he should be able to play in the next game, but he would have to wear a brace and take some painkillers.

Kyle nodded, but he was not convinced. He felt a throbbing pain in his knee, and he wondered if he had done more damage than the doctor realized. He also wondered if he had provoked the fan by sticking out his leg and arms. He had seen a video of the incident online, and it looked like he had initiated the contact. He felt a pang of guilt and regret.

He decided to keep his doubts to himself. He did not want to appear weak or scared. He wanted to prove himself to his coach, his teammates, and his fans. He wanted to show that he was a tough and resilient player, who could overcome any adversity. He wanted to redeem himself after the loss to Wake Forest.

He followed the doctor's instructions and rested his knee for the next few days. He skipped practice and watched film of Louisville's games. He studied their strengths and weaknesses, and prepared himself mentally for the game. He told himself that he was ready, that he was not afraid, that he was not hurt.

He arrived at the arena on Wednesday night, wearing his brace and taking his painkillers. He warmed up with his teammates, trying to ignore the discomfort in his knee. He felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as he waited for the game to start. He looked at the crowd, hoping to see some friendly faces. He saw his parents, who had flown in from New York to support him. He saw his girlfriend, who had made a sign that said "Go Kyle!" He saw some Duke fans, who cheered for him and chanted his name. He felt a boost of confidence and gratitude.

He also saw some Louisville fans, who booed him and heckled him. He heard them call him names and make fun of his injury. He heard them say that he was a dirty player, that he deserved to get hurt, that he was going to lose. He felt a wave of anger and defiance.

He blocked out the noise and focused on the game. He told himself that this was his moment, that this was his chance to shine, that this was his story. He stepped on the court, ready to face his challenge.

Which would also be the coolest of thing said about us in the media ever.

There was considerable mocking of Filipowski on a Sports radio station I listened to this afternoon. Calling him out for not attempting to leave quickly. Noted that Proctor, who was farther from the Duke bench, sprinted to the bench as the horn sounded.
