Pretty surprised there wasn't already a thread about this. 36 dead thus far, of whom 35 have been tentatively identified.

The property manager, Derick Almena, seems extremely disturbed. He's also not doing himself any favors by doing these live interviews.

This article does a good job laying out the possible civil and criminal ramifications

Edited to add, Mods, if this is more appropriate for the Pit, then please move it over there

The Almena guy is completely unhinged. He's like a cult leader and shouldn't be doing any interviews. Oakland's a mess, but it's smaller than San Jose or SF. No telling how many similar set ups are out there in the Bay Area, NYC, LA, Chicago, etc...

Almena's already on probation for receiving stolen goods. He's going to jail for a long time, but he has no assets to recover in s civil suit. The building owner and Oakland will be scratching out big checks.
