Official 2019-20 NBA Season: Knicks fire Fizdale

Basketball costs less than baseball to play. Further, inner cities don't often have the space for fields. On top of that, there are virtually no full scholarships for baseball. The scholarships that do exist are most often chopped among a number of players. In baseball, you don't make much if you aren't in the top few rounds of the draft. Plus, even the top players have to spend years in the minors making subsistence money.

MLB has to spend much more than they are to reach out to black kids and families.

Baseball fucked itself when it instituted draft money pools and slots. A lot of the best black players were bought out of scholarships for other sports Betts, McCutchen , etc. Getting paid right away was the best thing baseball had going and they ruined it. This has had a huge impact on the level of athletes of any race baseball is getting and it sucks.

Pretty sure they made the second FT by mistake.

Cleveland is openly shopping Kevin Love. They want assets for their rebuild.

No one has more assets than OKC. They could trade the expiring contracts of Gallinari and Roberson along with 3-5 first round picks. Those picks aren't going to be worth much as they came from the Clippers and Rox. They do own one from Miami which could end up in middle of the first round.

As it is OKC is one game out of the playoffs, being the eight seed or missing the playoffs by one or two slots has no real difference in the draft. Getting Love could put them in the playoffs.

Trades and the draft are the only way OKC can be competitive. Being in the middle or bottom of the draft doesn't help much.

Why in the world would OKC trade for anyone? They will be sellers. Being the 8 seed is a terrible place to be.

OKC is stuck with Chris' contract. They might be able to move Adams.

Those draft picks are basically worthless. OKC will make our attendance at the Anaheim Convention Center look like Coachella if they go into full tank mode.

I see no way the thunder trade for Kevin Love. And if they did , the entire front office should be fired.

Yeah, unprotected 1st six years from now when Kawhi is 34 and George is 35 and well up from their current contracts is basically worthless. Let's flip some 1sts and get 31 year-old broken-down Kevin Love to get from the 8th seed to the 7th seed!

If they keep those picks, they might as well move to Seattle now. OKC is not a hot bed of bball. If you aren't good and after losing KD, Harden, Russ and Ibaka, your arena will look like the Joel. The local media revenues will be pennies,

EDIT: Thinking Ballmer will sit pat when he's about to move into his new arena is also silly. The draft picks from the Rox and Clippers are virtually worthless if you are trying to rebuild a team.

No top FA will go to OKC.

No shit OKC won’t attract anyone, but do you think Kevin Love has anything left? He is a shell of himself.

He's still averaging 16.7/10.7 while shooting 37.6% on threes.

OKC needs to make it through a couple of years. If they aren't any good, it will cost the owner well into nine figures in team value.

He’s below league average in TS% and eFG%. A high usage player on a terrible team a point above league average at three. Not worth giving up anything for.

He’s a compiler for bad teams. I hate to admit that bc I loved him in Minnesota, but he won’t make anyone better.
