I'm between ugh and meh myself. Gross.
Bzzz was a monumental bad hire. Manning could turn out to be a great hire.
I don't Manning would do a terrible job here. I just think we can do so much better.

Danny Manning could turn out to be good for sure. Could turn out terrible. Roll of the dice. Something we really needed to avoid and apparently tried to avoid. The fact is Ron tried and struck out with a bunch of dudes, not just Shaka. Thankfully this is almost undoubtedly his last major hire.
I agree with Woody, it's not that this will end up absolutely being a disastrous hiring, it's that we can find better candidates - more qualified candidates.
Dude has recruited at NC Central. Much different than recruiting at Wake Forest.
I would say that Manning's name recognition would open alot more doors.
Masiello was as shady as he looked.
Welp, Buzz had a better resume than Danny Manning.
I disagree. I thought Bzzz was going to be a disaster day one.
I think Manning has a lot of potential for a Tier C candidate. It is risky and not the HR hire that has been PRed, but he has potential.
LOL. There isn't a very strong correlation between high major assistant recruiting and success as a head coach. The association is spurious, imo. The reasons we think Manning will be good are the same reasons that we think LeVelle will be good. Also, Manning's recruiting at Tulsa hasn't really been that notable.
Also, how is Masiello's situation that sketchy? Happens alot more often than you'd think, fwiw.
It's not a coincidence that Danny Manning's name resurfaced today but it's not because Goodman reads these boards.

Manning is a plan C hire certainly, but I just don't get the hate.
Potential vs. resume is a huge leap, dude. You're projecting success onto a resume that hardly screams sure thing.
Purportedly? Or is this the Legend of Brad Stevens Part Deux?
