Irish, where should somebody stay the night along 80 between Reno and Salt Lake City? None of the trip-planning options seem to stick out as ideal.

A plausible theory. One of the factors the milwaukee journalists continually cited when reporting Shaka was deciding or had declined was their lack of an AD/President.
Now Wellman has been the AD for upteenth years. He's been rumored to be looking at retirement in a couple of years and he was forced to PUBLICLY admit (i know he lies/ misleads publicly consistently) that all of the Wake Forest leadership would have to be involved.
If the BOT ponied up 3 large and Hatch is there to sort things out with a Coach who will be around much longer then Wellman I can see why its been close to the vest and methodical to get everyone on board.
SHAKA TIME GET IT DONE
