Official Real World: Vegas Thread

I like the new roommate, she's gonna start up so much crap.

I like how Adam tries to play up his bad boy persona and talk about how badass he is and how his roommates can't deal with it... when in actuality he just acts like he has never been drinking before every time he gets drunk. Real hard dudes can hold their liquor.

I know he's said that he spent time in juvie, sold drugs, etc.

I have this nagging feeling that Adam is about 1% as hard as he seems. He seems to me like a nerd from high school who could never get girls, so now he plays up the "i like to have multiple girlfriends" thing while being horrifically manipulative to them. He is a "player" but in reality I think he's a tool who is DESPERATELY trying to convince everyone that he is cool.

He did say that he was a nerd in high school. At the time I thought it was another line but I agree with you, maybe that was his one grain of truth.

I just feel like he's trying WAY too hard to make people believe that he is a bad boy, is popular with the ladies, etc.

People who are actually like that don't need to constantly say it.

mike mike is the only rational person on this show. leroy is entertaining.

all the others are tools.

Leroy and Mike together are gold.

Nany was probably suicidal after watching that episode. Imagine being all excited because you're going to be on tv, but then they actually air the show and you look like a pathetic child. "I'm embarrassed for you, dude."

Like that they are sewing the seeds for the Dustin gay video revelation later this season. Well played, MTV.

yes yes yes...going to be a ridiculous bombshell, especially after his chick saying that if you have done anything gay, you are off limits to her.

random question- can roy-le get busy without his wave cap on? does it give him some sort of super power?

Leroy's Real World career is similar to Tim Lincecum's baseball career: He's got a long way to go, but he is on pace to become a sure-fire Hall of Famer. Just needs to avoid any big hiccups.

His reaction to the Dustin Revelation will be key. I would also suggest that if he can get Mike-Mike laid, he is in.

A few thoughts:

- Big Mike and Little Leroy are giving San Diego Brad & Randy a run for their money as best RW duo ever. This one's going to come down to the wire.

- I love it when Mike lays some real talk on Dustin, but at the same time, I also feel bad for Dustin. He's like a little kid the way he gets his feelings hurt and ends up face down in a pillow.

- Nany. Terrible.

- Dustin is either dressed to go to the club, or he is wearing a pair of shorts and nothing else. That's it. That is the extent of his clothing options.

- Cooke is such an obvious future Challenge participant, that it's almost too obvious and I'll almost be surprised if we ever see her again.

- I may regret saying this, but Heather seems kind of smart and normal. She also looks kind of like one of Charlie Sheen's pornstar girlfriends. She is growing on me.

- I've never looked forward to something on the RW more than I'm looking forward to the revelation that Dustin was boning dudes on his website. Epic.

I agree 100%. Really enjoyed Heather last night. Hated all other girls.

cooke and real world DC emily should be penciled in to the next 5-6 challenge shows. i could see them either becoming an unstoppable duo (a la kenny/evan) or perfect foils.

the average IQ of this season has to be an all time low with nani and dustin leading the way. holy cow are they both incapable of following any sound reasoning.

the scene with heather and dustin where she asks him about having sex with guys on the internet and he jumps in to correct her by saying "one guy" has the potential to be the best scene in MTV history.

Agreed that Dustin and Nany are extremely dumb. However, I think overall between Mike, Heather, and Leroy (who I'm sure wouldn't dominate the SAT, but seems to be quite level-headed), this is actually a more intelligent cast than usual.

Typically there is like 1 relatively intelligent person, a bunch of mediocrity, and at least 1 person who is so stupid that he/she should really have their genitals removed to guarantee that their genes don't infect another generation. For example, last season in New Orleans: Eric (intelligent), Knight, Ashlee, Jemmye, Preston, McKenzie, Sahar (average to below average), Ryan (exceptionally stupid).

In any event, I doubt any cast will ever surpass Cancun for dumbest cast ever.

good points. if you have an iq set of (70, 70, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110) your average is still higher than cancun which was pretty much (80, 80, 80, 80, 80, 80, 80).

So pumped for this.

There was a very strange vibe around the entire thing. I was sort of hoping it would be received by at least one of the roommates in a more light-hearted way and that someone would recognize the entire situation as being completely ridiculous, but instead it was all hurt feelings and drama. It didn't help that they started the episode with his crazy mom, which was sort of sad and set the tone for the rest of what should have been a much funnier episode.

I think the best move Dustin could have pulled is that when he knew that everyone knew and he organized the house meeting, he should have shown up totally naked and just been like, "wooooooooooo!!!" Just sort of owned it. Instead he went all Dashboard Confessional and emo.

That episode really made me want to punch Mike in the face -- can't stand that kid.

I had mixed thoughts on this whole thing, too.

From a strategic sense, I think he only had one real move here of keeping Heather. First, he had to allow all the hatred and judgment to build amongst the roommates, and then play the role of the victim and have Heather be the one to console him. He seemed to be doing this (inadvertently) but screwed it up when he pushed her a way a bit too much in the hallway, as well as ending it during the dinner conversation.

You've got to definitely feel bad for him with the mother situation, as well as you can tell he was definitely manipulated by money and the father-son relationship. Though, he definitely could have played the situation smarter, explaining that his use of gay bashing is a way for him to cope with his past, understand it was wrong but being too weak to act otherwise.

I grow to dislike Mikey Mike even more every episode, as he actually reminds me a bit of WakeGrad. He is very judgmental with his beliefs, sees things in only black and white, and holds himself on a pedestal as free of sin.
