was playing online poker last night (on Bodog). put in $200 into my account. was playing $1-2NL and doing well so i kicked up the stakes. kept doing well, so i kept going up stakes. then i took my winnings and played some online blackjack with continued success.

in the end, i finished with $10,021. no joke.

200 bucks to over 10k in about 2 hours. drinks on me...

ETA: the missing 21 was b/c i was using it in a different tournament at the time i took the photo.

good job. i kept waiting for you to say you kept playing and ended up losing it, but big props to you.

one of my good friends had cancer (in remission now), and during chemo he had to take time off school and just chilled all day playing poker. ended up making like $50k in less than a year. i was with him one night when he took $3k at a casino. he still takes in about a thousand a month of extra cash.

How much were you betting per hand at Blackjack.

$100-$500. i was aggressive to say the least. was probably winning 70-75% of hands. definitely split and doubled on one hand starting with a $500 bet. $1500 on the table will get the heart rate up....

That's awesome. So other than the obligatory hookers, what are you gonna treat yourself to with some of that caysh?

well i left $1,000 in there to gamble some more (NFL is coming up so it's always nice to have it). i told some of my roommates and closest friends in school that i'd treat them to a gift of their choosing (within reason) so that's another $1000. as for the remaining 8k, probably invest 5k of it and save the remaining 3k for a vacation or something down the road....

nice to have the problem of figuring out how to spend gambling winnings...

In theory, you do need to pay taxes on your winnings.

narc! mods please ban.
I'm sure this is all hypothetical anyway. Like anybody could do that well in two hours, plus im pretty sure you can't use real money on the interwebs. That would be chaos.

i was thinking about that. i'm currently a student so i have zero income. plus this deposit is under 10k (which i think is the cutoff to report). so doesn't that mean i don't have to report anything?

Hell yes! Seriously though, that is awesome. Enjoy the equivalent of three months untaxed pay for me.
