Pinstripe Bowl vs Michigan State

How the hell has the NCAA not figured out that they should have a draft for these lower tier bowls and broadcast that shit?

And now, with the 17th pick, the CEO of Frosted Flakes will select the first team for the Sun Bowl.

Put it on Amazon Prime or some other streaming option. Boom, ratings.

Tony the Tiger himself would make the pick, and it would of course be Grrrrrreat theater

Now this is an idea. Although after the first few years it'd probably end up being the same schools picked first and wouldn't be as compelling.

Not if you include the CFP !

Also, have all team mascots at the reveal !

I mean FIFA and UEFA and the NBA televise selection shows where they pull ping pong balls out of a hopper. This could be at least that good.

I'd go a step further....have four teams drafted for select bowls, then have the teams' mascots fight in a mosh pit wrestling match to see who goes. Last two standing get the bid. Could you imagine seeing a tree, leprechaun, badger, and a trojan man just whaling on each other? Awesome sauce

If you did it as a lottery to determine the bowl picking order, and THEN immediately did the draft in one event, that'd be some good television

Make it a hat ceremony where the bowl rep fakes toward one hat and picks another. Of course we would be the one chosen over.

There’s already 72 6+ win teams for 78 spots, and 14 5 win teams that have a chance to get their sixth win. There will be enough 6 win teams to leave Duke out.

Only 5 of them are favored to win. Would need all of those to win (would be great to see Miss St and UNC lose, though) and Nebraska to upset Iowa or BC to upset Pitt or whatever happens with Kent State. At least a chance there is a spot open.

Reduce the number of bowls and put more teams on the bubble, then you'd have something.

Have a bunch of fans there watching the draft. The Carolina fans are present wearing flamingo shirts getting ready for the Camping World and then, BOOM!, they are in the Pinstripe Bowl. [camera pans to Tar Heel fans crying in their Mai Tais]. I love it.

Pretty sure most Carolina fans are Yankees fans too. They’d be wearing their Jeter jerseys. Maybe they could make a Pats game while they’re in the Northeast as well.

Pinstripe from what im hearing.

Makes some sense. WF hasn't played in NYC. WF has a decent number of alumni in the area. Some are projecting Illinois to be the Big 10 rep. Think WF would drill the Illini.

fun fact: no 9-3 team has ever played in the Pinstripe Bowl, although 8-4 Notre Dame and 8-4 Pitt were both ranked when playing there

(Notre Dame beat Rutgers but later had all its wins vacated; Pitt lost to Northwestern)
