Pit Boss Beer Thread

Drinking a Xocoveza stout by Stone. Very impressed, tastes like a beer version of a Mexican hot chocolate. Complex as hell but none of the flavors are muddled. You can taste clearly every ingredient that's on the label.

Drinking Pliny the Elder.

Great to check this awesome, badass box....

New Whole Foods in Houston will have a brewery inside as well as 20 taps. Store will also have an employee riding around on a tricycle with two kegs attached so people can buy beer while in the aisles.

Crazy.

They hired one of the employees at Growler's in Montrose (Ivan) to run their beer department. Super pumped, because I live near Growler's and get drunk there enough to be friends with the employees.

Sourfest at Salud in NoDa tomorrow (Charlotte).

Getting prepped watching the ball game and drinking this beast (I know its not a sour).

Picked up some Evil Twin Hipster Ale, plus some Peeper Ale from Maine Beer Company.

I am pretty pumped about both of those pickups.

Pops just sent a pic. He ordered two twelve packs of Pliny the Elder bombers for Thanksgiving. Oh boy.

Really? Is he at the brewery? When I went this summer the limit was 6 bottles.

I know they sometimes change the limit though.

Not gonna lie, I wasn't very impressed Pliny the Elder when I tried it at the brewery.

Was extremely impressed with their sours like Consecration and Supplication.

He was out there for game 5 on business. Dunno how he managed two 12s.

I've only ever had one pour but it was one of the best I've ever had. I agree that Russian River makes some other great brews though.

Yesterday a buddy and I did a blind taste test of Heady Topper vs Hop Drop.

Both great, but Heady won out...

I was at Stella Brew (W-S) over the weekend. Matt said he'll be pouring Sculpin on Tuesday. I'm a huge fan...
