Professional Deacon Golf

Willy Zals withdraws from BMW with injury. Heard he can't drop lower than 3rd. Sucks but hope he gets better.

Let's go Cam Young!

Despite the absence of any Deacons, the US Am quarters and final were great this year. Obviously it's pretty much impossible to sit through the back 18 of just 2 guys playing a match, but a lot of times you get a runaway winner since it's over 36 holes so it's cool when they come down to the wire.

That being said, (spoiler alert if you recorded it to watch later) - the mistake Carr made on 14 was just unreal. Bennett even said "that's OB" after yanking his approach left, then re-hit and missed the green making bogey his best-case result. And Carr STILL hit 3 wood, following him OB, and halved the hole. 3 holes later he's down 1 on 18 instead of tied. Brutal. Caddie deserves a swift kick in the ass also...

Bennett might be a straight-to-LIV type guy based on his interviews.

Bill Haas is giving the Korn Ferry Tour Finals a shot. If he can finish in the top 25 over three events he will increase his exemption status for next season on the PGA Tour. He missed the cut in the first event last week. If he does not make the top 25, he should receive some exemptions as a past champion as well as some sponsors' exemptions, but he will have much more limited status this year.

Respect the grind. Got to be tough playing in a Korn Ferry event, when the PGAT is playing a Tour Championship, which Haas won in 2011. Lots of vets trying to get their groove back on the KFT:

Jonathan Byrd - 44 years old
William McGirt - 43
Bo Van Pelt - 47
Ryan Armour 46
Robert Garrigus - 44

That mistake was brutal to watch, especially knowing it eventually cost him the match.

Bennett is a turd, hope he goes to LIV so we never ever have to watch him again
