Stayed up late last night to watch the Spurs and Clippers. As I watched Tim and Chris lead their respective teams, each showing a great deal of heart, my pride in being a Deacon was renewed. Not only are we fortunate to be associated with such outstanding young me, but going back to Arnold Palmer, we enjoy the association with a wide variety of great athletes in a variety of professional sports. It is easy, at times like these, to stray from the Deacon fold. Last night was a reminder to me to keep focused on the long term view and not get so caught up in the day-to-day machinations of the basketball program. I am proud to be a Deacon.
