This is crazy.

(CNN) -- Police in Canada are looking into the deaths of two young boys who appear to have been strangled by a python.

The boys, ages 5 and 7, were found dead Monday morning at an apartment in Campbellton, New Brunswick. They had been sleeping over at a friend's apartment above a reptile store, according to a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Early indications suggest that a snake from the store escaped its enclosure, got into the ventilation system, then the apartment, and strangled the two boys, the statement said.

RCMP Sgt. Alain Tremblay described the snake as a python.

It was captured, and police have the snake in their possession.

Canadian broadcaster CBC reported the python is between 11 and nearly 15 feet long and weighs more than 99 pounds.

Autopsies on the boys' bodies will be performed Tuesday.

I mean, I love my kid, but that is a pretty bitchin' way to go, so at least you'd have that going for you.

Totally expected this to have happened in Florida.

That story is shocking...

That it did not happen in Florida.

Meanwhile, in Florida:

On Sunday in South Florida, a local man was cleaning out his shed when he found an unexpected guest hiding beneath some storage containers: a thirteen-foot Burmese python.

It took almost five employees from the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Anti-Venom unit to carry the 100-pound albino serpent out of the shed and into a protective bag. Authorities said the snake’s size means it almost certainly was kept as a pet, and escaped from someone’s home. South Florida has a bit of a python issue, as snakes released by pet owners now breed in the wild.

The homeowner may have also found the answer to his missing cat, as a feline skeleton was discovered near the python.

“Speaking with the neighbors, apparently there’s a couple of rabbits and a cat missing from the neighborhood recently,” said rescue Lieutenant Lisa Wood, “so the snake may be to blame for that.”

So does that mean four employees? Or do they not count part timers or little people as a full employee?
