Retired US Soccer / World Cup Thread (RIP)

Such a pretty goal. Tyler Adams with a gorgeous little flick and Sargent with just a beautiful sweep and spin to create space to finish. Really nice goal.
 
Damn. Should have grabbed one on the last touch of the half. Patented Lennon cross that Williamson, I think, volleys just wide across the goal. Sargent may have wrenched his back. Fingers crossed.
 
Really need to hold on here. CCV doing a good job of holding the backline together.
 
Some good skill on display for about 70 minutes. Last 20 we got nervous and couldn't hold any possession and had some lazy turnovers. Sounds like Senegal were considered favorites in our group entering the tournament, so a good result. A win and we likely play NZ. Finishing 2ND would likely mean Germany or Mexico.

There's plenty of kids on this team with potential to be excited about for the future of the USMNT

Acosta, Cameron-Vickers, Palmer-Brown, Sargent. Adams has been solid, as has Lennon. Wish we could have seen more of Zelalem. Klinsy Jr could be good. Not to mention the guys that aren't playing that could be...Pulisic, Josh Perez, McKinzie Gaines, Taitague, Akale, Isiah Young.... Time will tell if any of them progress to USMNT status, but some good talent there.
