Was hoping we'd beat VaTech on the road along with NC State and squeeze in one other win in our stretch through Notre Dame. Should have won the VaTech game. Should have won the UVA game. Amazing how 2 single free throws can flip a season.

We have 9 consecutive winnable games coming up. This team has NIT/Bubble talent and it was always going to come down the back stretch since our ACC schedule was absurdly top-heavy. Looking like just another year of underachieving. Apparently it takes a few years of showering to fully wash out the stench of [Redacted].

The schedule was indeed front-loaded for us, but having watched last night's choke-job and the handful of no-shows in the last few weeks, it's pretty clear that this team lacks leadership and intestinal fortitude.

It's certainly possible for us to squeeze some life out of our relatively weak schedule in the second half, but it's not probable. I have no confidence in this team's ability to win an ACC game on the road, let alone actually finish the job on an upset or two at home.
 
Projected to finish 14-16 (5-13). Seems like this team is about where people expected it to be - especially if the Deacs get that 15th win.

Looking back I really can't believe how optimistic I was with my original projections. Wake really underachieved this season.
