Role of the Media

Isn't Rufo the guy leading the anti-CRT BS campaign? Not sure he should be talking about stupidity.

LOL, TOTO write's a song about you and then you go and say something stupid on the Twitter.

LOL at Chuck Todd. A great example of the insular world and thinking of the DC news media.

Good quick read:

5) What do you think about the point that the media presents a distorted picture because the media grades the GOP on a curve and expects absolutely nothing from the GOP? There’s a discussion here about the way that the media is like a tennis umpire who only pays attention to one side of the court:

This is very much on the mark.

It’s taken for granted that Democrats are actually trying to do things—Democrats are evaluated based on their success in getting things done. But in contrast, the media seems to assume that the Republicans have no policy agenda—Republicans are graded based on their ability to obstruct the Democrats’ progress and create bad press for the Democrats.

The New York Times stirred up a hornet's nest of criticism when its editorial board published a lengthy editorial yesterday on the "threats to free speech in America" from both the right and left. Although it does offer some criticism of right-wingers in state governments banning books and limiting what can be taught in schools, most of the editorial's ire and criticism is directed at left-wing "cancel culture." Not surprisingly, the editorial has received plenty of criticism from liberals for lots of bosiding and false equivalency.

it feels like NYTimes stopped doing the reading at Habermas

It does seem as if nearly every news network, after watching Fox haul in high ratings and huge profits for decades now, has decided to emulate them by hiring right-wingers and Trumpites to administrative posts and moving increasingly to the right in their coverage. So much for the liberal mainstream news media - not that conservatives will ever admit it.

What's the point of having a culture war if you're not going to try to win ?
